Description |
Rofkar, Teri (artist). Video, 58 seconds MPG format. Teri Rofkar is a Tlingit master weaver from Sitka in Southeast Alaska and of the Raven Clan and Snail House. She learned weaving and basketry from classes in college and at museums, and was encouraged in her work by regional Elders. She weaves all the time and has been selling her work since 1986. Her weavings connect her with her ancient heritage and many family and clan members are also weavers. She exhibits around Alaska and the United States and teaches and demonstrates her art around the country. |
