Description |
Ta'giuqtigapta Tuapaktusu'gmi Immersion Camp: Iñupiaq Land Use Values and Resources Video: 1 minute and 34 seconds, MPG-1 format. It is time to break camp and haul the gear down to the beach. The tents and tarps are folded for the journey back to Barrow where they will be properly dried and stored for future use. Kunnaan ties together the tent poles so they will not be separated or scattered about the boat. Several tents are left standing as several campers will wait behind for the boats to return from the first trip back to Barrow. While this was expected to be the same day, the ice moved on shore during the day and grounded the boats. The last of the campers left Tuapaktusuk two days later. |
