Description |
Ta'giuqtigapta Tuapaktusu'gmi Immersion Camp: Iñupiaq Land Use Values and Resources Video: 1 minute and 11 seconds, MPG-1 format. Everyone has reached Tuapakusuk and set up their tents as a new storm is brewing out on the ocean. The three boats are beached and tied together. The campers are getting situated and preparing to eat. It looks as if that ocean is starting to get rough. Kunnaan and Katherine Gaudet are serving hot coffee or tea from the small amount of water the campers brought with them. After this, the water will be obtained from melted snow along the shoreline. Some of the campers are walking above on the tundra and some of the campers are warming themselves near the camp fire. The campsite is located by a small stream, the mouth of which changes in appearance throughout the time at Tuapaktusuk, partly due to the weather and partly human intervention to help get the boats off the beach later. |
