Description |
Ta'giuqtigapta Tuapaktusu'gmi Immersion Camp: Iñupiaq Land Use Values and Resources Video: 2 minutes and 35 seconds, MPG-1 format. Fannie Akpik's nephew, Steven, is in the bow with the rifle on the look-out for seals. His harpoon is ready and within arms reach. This is Steven's first time to be out at summer camp or a seal hunt. Paul Bodfish is the boat captain and is talking with Pauyuueraq in the other boat. The boat spots a seal and Steven takes a shot but misses. The seal has dived and the crew trolls the area waiting for it to resurface. In the cold and rain, there is always time for a coffee break. |
