Went to see Senator Clarke
Ch. of Jud. Com. of the Senate: He
said the printing in my matter was
done - showed me copy - but refused
to give me a copy. Said that case
would not be taken up before end of
the week - not until the "Railroad Rate
Bill" was disposed of. Called on
Senators Bailey & Gearin - &
also on Piles & Foraker, but the
latter were out. I now think I will
go over to New York & stay a few days
- cant do anything here.
Came over to New York on the
evening train - met Joslin
& Judge Dubose - Mr. Ralph
not in town - am at Waldorf Astoria.

& called on Birch & Schultz -
