The powerful Husky Dog, with his great en- durance, has been celebrated in song and story, and is still used as a method of winter transpor- tation in the Interior and Arctic sections of Alaska, although his place is rapidly being taken by the airplane, automobile and train. However, Alaska's winter dog sled races attract nation- wide attention, and in Fairbanks you are likely to be lulled to sleep by a malamute chorus.

Complete sets and envelopes for mailing are available from the Steward. These dry point etchings are especially attractive when framed, and the above description should be pasted in the back for lasting reference.
Let's talk about the weather, remembering that, as Alaska covers one-fifth the area of the United States proper, it has almost as many variations in cli- mate. Of course, it rains some- times ... a refreshing summer rain that you'll welcome after the dry heat you've left behind. Inci- dentally, you won't see a single ice igloo in Alaska! But you will need your sunglasses.
