From information with photo: "Noel Wien, noted for his contributions to Alaska's aviation history over the past years, stands with his son Merrill, a pilot for Wien Air Alaska with a Cessna 185. Now observing his 50th anniversary of his first flight from Anchorage to Fairbanks, Noel has a current commercial pilot's license. He also has one issued to him by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale of the USA signed by Orville Wright in 1926. Responsible for many firsts in Alaska's air records, Noel Wien made his memorable flight in a Hisso Standard J-1 on July 15, 1924." 1974. Photographer: Kenneth G. Kard.
