Description	Title taken from caption. "Mastodon Mining Co. bought the ground from former owner - old man, Gus Erickson. Company paid $37,000 in 1933. I helped Gus to mine early in the spring. Later, Gus left the place and he gave the cabin to me. The horse visible at the end of the cabin - I bought if for $250.00 in Fairbanks and rode it in the saddle from Faribanks to a head of the Mastodon creek. We used the horse to move the pipes and sluice boxes. Photograph type and size: 35 mm neg. 73-243, 3 x 5.
