Title from caption . Photograph of a dog named Calamity Jane . Narrative in photo album reads : "In the lower corner is Mr . Shultz ' pet and companion , 'Calamity Jane. ' She was a husky and he raised her on a bottle . She fussed so much that he named her Calamity . She was a very intelligent animal , understanding all Mr . Shultz said to her. She occupied his bed with him, had sardines and canned milk , chocolate drops and any fancy food she liked . After we came 'outside ' she died from rhumatism . Mr . Shultz was heart broken and asked us to never mention her to him. "
