Narrative in photo album reads : "The man , 'Eutatalbat ' and his wife , 'Hostatlinaw ' were both deaf and dumb . They converse by means of signs , as their language has no alphabet . They convey ideas very accurately , being able to describe the surrounding country , tell where they killed an animal and direct others how to find the place. "
