mushing
trip
from
Fairbanks

Alaska
to
Washington
D.C
. to
prove
the
feasibility
of a
road
linking
Alaska
to the
contiguous
United
States
. The
road
was
later
built
during
WWII
as the
Al-can
Highway
.
