Title from caption .Caption reads : "S . S . "Corwin " in the Arctic Ice Pack , 1910. " A ship , the S . S . Corwin , is seen through a large pack of ice , possibly stuck or shipwrecked . This is probably in the Nome area , since the S . S . Corwin traveled to Nome and the Seward Peninsula often in the spring from 1906 to about 1914 .
